Vei Maria was born in Korydallos, Attica and spent her childhood in a district of Piraeus which, as she usually says, she was lucky enough to grow up playing in a “neighborhood” without fears, with many laughs and beaten knees. She started her studies at the University of Ioannina, in the Department of History and Archeology, but very soon she realized that the psychology and the motivations behind people’s actions were what always interested her and so the field she wanted to study and act in then, it was that of psychology.
She is part of the Department of Philosophy-Pedagogical Psychology of the Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she completes her studies with a specialization in Psychology. She then trains in the field of Counseling at the private school THACE. She first chooses the counseling skills and then the synthetic Counseling of Cognitive and Person-Centered Model of Psychotherapy.
She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. While strongly believing that therapists need to be in lifelong learning status (as well as personal therapy) she continues postgraduate training in mental health while currently completing postgraduate studies in Synthetic Psychotherapy at Derby University through Mediterranean College.
In August of 2014, she co-creates with Eleni Aikaterini the Center for Psychotherapy and Counseling “aksiZO” (I deserve), in Peristeri, where she works daily with notable collaborators, creating a dynamic network with people who love and believe in eternal development! In the last years, writing has become part of her life, as she completed her first allegorical tale entitled “The Love of the Kingfisher”.
Shortly before the appearance of the Pandemic that forces everyone to do our actions “from a distance”, she listens to the need of Greeks abroad to receive psychotherapy in their mother language but also of the people of the province and closed societies to receive treatment from distance and creates together with her team the first online mental health platform, e-deserves, giving the opportunity to anyone who wishes to plan and conduct online, in an easy way, individual sessions, group sessions, stand-alone seminars as well as attend free video seminars, podcasts and read interesting articles.
