Giannis Giannakakis is a lawyer at the Supreme Court. He studied Law at the Universities of Athens and Munich (LMU). He worked as a Legal Advisor in large multinational organizations (NN Hellas, ELAIS- UNILEVER HELLAS, NOVARTIS), but also leading Greek companies (Babis Vovos – International Technical SA).

He specializes in personal data protection and is the most internationally recognized unique Greek lawyer in Europe in the field of personal data protection with many and important international distinctions and awards (Recommended Attorney in Greece, Global Awards Winner 2021, Annual Awards Winner 2021).

He has received the highest recognition in the field of Data Privacy, that of Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). He has triple certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as Certified Information Privacy Professional for Europe (CIPP / E) & Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and as Certified Information Privacy Professional United States (CIPP / US), as well as certification from IT Governance as a GDPR Practitioner He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

In 2019 he was included in the PrivSec 200 list of the top 200 professionals in the field of Data Protection and Security by the Data Protection World Forum and One Trust, while in 2021 he was distinguished as one of the 10 leaders in the field of legal services with the most influence (10 most influential leaders in legal services) by tycoonsuccess magazine.
