The Mayor of Kaisariani Christos Voskopoulos is a man of local government. He is well aware of the problems of the local government and has been by the side of the citizens and the neighborhoods every day since 2002. He is effective in everything he has undertaken and is party independent.
He was born in 1962 in Kaisariani where he lives permanently. He comes from parents from Asia Minor and is the grandson of the National Resistance fighter George Kouvas.
He studied in Bulgaria, Italy and Greece. He is a graduate of the School of Architectural Engineering of the NTUA. and was a PhD candidate in the Department of Urban Planning and Spatial Planning of the NTUA. (dissertation on: Historical Memory and built environment – Kaisariani: an example). Participated in research programs in the Department of Spatial Planning and Urban Planning of the NTUA. (holiday home in Greece, studies for Moschato). Since 2022 he holds a master’s degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Geology and Geoenvironment in crisis management and natural disasters.
He speaks English, Italian, Bulgarian. He has been involved in cinema.
Collaborated on funding projects from community programs, and Architectural studies of large-scale projects. Participates in mass organizations. He is a member of the TEE and the Association of Architects.
From 1998 to 2015 he maintained a technical design office in the Hilton area, while from 2000 to 2004 he ran a transport company.
He has been an active citizen since the 1970s with struggles in the student movement. He was the secretary of KNE Kaisariani. He continues to this day his political activity, integrated in the cause of the center-left, fighting for progressive changes in our neighborhood and place.
He was a Municipal Councilor from 2010-2019, leader of the independent municipal faction “KAISARIANI TORA” as well as president of N.P.D.D. “Leonidas Manolidis”, of all social structures of the Municipality of Kaisariani.
Since September 2019, he has been elected mayor of Kaisariani and participates in thematic committees of PEDA.
He is a member of the independent faction “New local-government” that participated in the elections for the administration of PED Attica and KEDE.
He is married and has a 38-year-old son.
