Vangelis Diniakos has been the Mayor of the Municipality of Chaidari since 2019 and is a Lawyer at the Supreme Court. He was born in 1979, grew up and lives in Chaidari.
The 1st General High School of Chaidari finished. He graduated from the Law School of Athens in 2004. The following year (2004-2005) he did a postgraduate degree in Commercial Law at the London School of Economics (LLM in Commercial Law). His dissertation was rated excellent and focused on the position of collective management organizations in the music industry.
He returned to Greece and served his term in the Navy (2005-2006).
Shortly afterwards he began his career as an Athens Lawyer. At the same time, he taught for two years (2008-2010) Intellectual Property Law to Postgraduate Students of the SAE Music Institute.
He did not stop being informed about the developments in his scientific subject and attended a series of seminars in Greece and abroad.
He developed intense social action, as he participated in the establishment of the Creative Commons Foundation in Greece, but also in ISTAME actions such as the study with the ‘Proposals for a progressive governance – Agenda 2020’.
He holds the title of CIArb Accredited Mediator (CIArb).
He was the only leader of an opposition Municipal faction in Greece who for his action has won 2 Panhellenic awards at the Best City Awards in 2016 and 2018. He was a member of the Economic Committee in the Municipality of Haidari since 2014, with deep knowledge of the issues of the Municipality.
His articles on legal science as well as local government have been published in print and online.
He speaks English and Italian.
He is married to decoration technician and merchant Stefania Manta and they have a son, Kyriakos.
